I am very excited. Tonight my daughter who is 15 came in, all shook up. At around 9pm she was at Whiston Station. There was her and her two mates. anyhow her mate had my daughters phone and was videoing my daughter and other mate coming up the steps towards the tin bridge which goes over the railway. all of a sudden they spotted a figure, in a long black cloak/robe who turned around and looked at them, then dissapeared. When the image was enlarged on my pc, you can actually see the railings through it. They were really scared. This was not them messing about, nor anyone else. and it was all caught on the camera. funnily enough the other two girls saw the figure buy my daughter didnt. I am sending it to Paul and Stu to ask there opinion of it. and will hopefully put it on here. but it will have to be muted. as the girls are all swearing on it. so will have to find a way how to bleep the language out. lol. _________________ yesterday, all my troubles seemed so far away, now they look as if theyre here to stay, now i believe in yesterday. |

I've seen the footage, to be honest I thought it was someone messing around at first, then i took a closer look, the longer i looked at it, the more chills i got, i'm no expert but the figure does seem to be partially transparent
Thanks for showing it to me Lin. |

I was told a similar thing a few years ago but it was at Eccleston Park Station I think.
It was someones mum waiting for the train when she noticed a man dressed in black with a hat on like a top hat just standing still on the opposite platform staring at her, she was scared being on her own and went to see if there was any one in the waiting area, when she looked back the man walked along the platform and then vanished into thin air as he got to the end.
It's supposed to have happened a few times, so do you think it might be a good place for an invest. at one of the stations? I think it would! and it wouldn't cost anything |

Most of the stations have security cameras, I wonder if any over the years have picked anything up and they havent been noticed.
Also I think that it would look strange if someone was watching these tapes and they saw all of us milling around _________________

That does look really strange Linda, it doesn't seem to have a shadow going to/ or coming away from it and it is transparent.
Its a shame that they didn't keep the camera pointing at it as it disappeared, the fact that one of them did go up to the spot and mentioned how freezing cold it was there adds some credence to it too, but again its hard to say, as everyone knows that temperature drops are known in areas like this.
All the same its good footage I would keep hold of it. _________________

I watched the clip last night - it's pretty weird! You can tell by their reactions that there was definately something there that scared then (I don't mean the swearing, btw Just the actual tone of their voices).
What gets me though is that a train goes past, but the light disappears when it gets to the figure which sort of leads me to believe that the figure is actually solid.
I suppose some manifestations (if it is a ghost) can take on solid forms though - or so I've heard, at least. |

Hi Sarah, directly in front of where the 'figure' was, is a large bush/shrub, so that could be why the lights on the train disappeared briefly.
I got NOWT on my pics |

Its the way you hold your mouth dems No sarah, we had come to that conclusion, that the large bush or tree was why you couldnt see the train lights. Lorna the station is off Lickers Lane, which is off Windy Arbour road, which runs from whiston village, to the motorways. its the first left passed the shops then 3rd left, straight down to the bottom and its on the right. _________________ yesterday, all my troubles seemed so far away, now they look as if theyre here to stay, now i believe in yesterday. |

Funny today, I was going to town with my boyfriend by train, decided to take my camera with me, so that he could take a pic of me next to the handrails, to determine how high the figure was. I am 5ft 1ins, the rail goes about half way up my body, and it does with the figure too. Leading me to the conclusion this figure is just over 5ft. I get the impression that it is a young woman and not a man, even tho it seems to have pants on. maybe not pants but calf length dress or skirt,, not sure, or iff not female a very small man, but years ago men where a lot shorter in stature. Also when you think about it, the railway line is the same one that Stephensons Rocket used. Could there be a connection as the figure was facing towards the track, even tho there was a tree in front of it.By the way I thought the station had been opened about 15 years, but a plaque up there says it was officially opened in 2004. Lee have you seen the video? or are you talking about the pic of mist, if its the pic and it freaks you out, you seen nothing till you have seen the video. lol. If you want send me your email and I will send it to you. _________________ yesterday, all my troubles seemed so far away, now they look as if theyre here to stay, now i believe in yesterday. |

i hooked the video off my phone up to the tv to enlarge it and we put it in slow motion. You can actually see the figure in detail watching the train go past then turn to look at the girls before disappearing.I think it looks like a man in a black coat with boots on,long hair and beard?Very freaky though and the mist is quite amazing too in the same spot! _________________ All good things come to those that wait |

Lee, get the 61 bus towards prescot/runcorn/widnes. get off at Lickers Lane, which is off windy arbour road. Walk down Lickers lane, take the third road on left walk down and the station is on the left, the steps are a little bit passed the station. _________________ yesterday, all my troubles seemed so far away, now they look as if theyre here to stay, now i believe in yesterday. |

Sarah, tell me more, a few people have seen a black figure? is that in the same vicinity? and was it also recently? My daughter spoke to one of the girls, the girl who was filming to ask her what she saw, she said she definetly saw it, but she never really saw the face as she was scared, tho sounds like i was right about the size, my daughter was asking her whereabouts the figure came up to on the railings, and my daughter described to me similar size as what i thought. I have asked someone on ts forum, who is quite good at history to find out what was on that land, also if they could find an old map. One thing that I have found out. Is that there was an accident on 12th July 1839 where two people died, to do with the railway in whiston, now whether it was on the track or in a train i dont know and i dont know precicely whereabouts in whiston either. _________________ yesterday, all my troubles seemed so far away, now they look as if theyre here to stay, now i believe in yesterday. |

That is a really good video m8.
Very intersting. I can't work out if somebody could of moved out of that area quick enough given the amount of time the camera moves away and then returns to the area.
I'm not saying that it is a fake or anything it's just that if other experts saw it then they might claim it was a fake by saying how it could be done.
I think it looks very genuine. _________________ www.scarletwarrior.com www.stuart-marshall.com |

The Rainhill locomotive trials happened in 1829 and had only 1 death William Huskinsson MP who died in a railway accident on 15th September 1830. around the same area, The clothes worn around the time would have been cloaks etc, with top hats.
I have found nothing nearer to the date that you mentioned, in that area and to do with trains. But your friend on the other forum may find something out for you, from sorces I haven't got. _________________

Shazam: Ooh, I don't know - my mum's posted somewhere in this thread about it. She knows more about it. Someone told her once about experiencing a similar thing.
I was watching the video back before, about 10 times in slow motion and everything, and it was only then when I actually saw the figure turn it's head! How blind am I! My mum was like "How could have NOT seen that??" haha! I don't know but that really freaked me out!
I definately want to get down there at some point and take some pics, see if I get anything. |

doh am i thick or what dems. yes lee just get the train from whiston to huyton, walk over the tin bridge, at the end of the bridge is the steps and to your left there is where the figure was . Stu, coming from the other way up from the steps the area is about 5ft from the handrail to the corner of the large fence, then immediatly to the right is a tin bridge, if anyone tried to get away that quick the girls could have seen down the bridge, also it makes a terrible racket, being tinnish. immediatlly to the left is a very long ramp, this also the girls could have seen down. so I know its for real. Will take some photos later, as i have to go to the station to go my brothers. so you can get the gist of the area. _________________ yesterday, all my troubles seemed so far away, now they look as if theyre here to stay, now i believe in yesterday. |

I found that but it gives no other information at all to back it up. i.e. did they fall from the bridge or go onto the track, was it even in that area and if it was a double death, why does your video only show one person on it? there are more questions then there are answers for, until more delving into the history of the place are done. _________________

First pic is me, in the area where the figure was. I took this to try and gauge how tall it was.
Second shows you looking up the ramp towards the area.
Third is the actual area where the figure was seem, to the right is the steps, to the left is the bridge ,taken from top of ramp
Fourth is view of bridge.
Now view looking towards the steps, the ramp is to the right, the bridge behind me.
Finally, Looking down the ramp from where the kids where at the time.

Jeanette, I wasnt thinking it was a double death, could have been two individual accidents. but just realised there are two other Whistons, one in Yorkshire, one I think Staffs way. So maybe not our Whiston after all. _________________ yesterday, all my troubles seemed so far away, now they look as if theyre here to stay, now i believe in yesterday. |

Lin, I've looked at the link, it is our Whiston, it lists famous Whistonians as Stevie G, Mel C (both born in Whiston hospital) and Peter Briggs, screenwriter (Hellboy) also born in Whiston hospital and he actually grew up in our street (never heard of him like, theres a Margaret Briggs still living here, could be his Mum ) |
